Design Phase
What does the Design Phase consist of?
Derive Objectives:Instructional/Performance/Behavioral Objective: A collection of words and/or pictures and diagrams intended to let others know what you intend for your students to achieve. A description of what a student will be able to do when competent.A description of those whom the instruction is intended (the learners). Knowing the audience will greatly aid in training development.
Pre-Test/Post-Test:A pre-test is a test given before instruction takes place. Purpose: To test the learner's knowledge/performance beforehand. This can be used to give each learner different levels of instruction or to see if they are exempt. A post-test is a test given after instruction takes place. Purpose: To test the learners knowledge/performance after instruction has taken place. The utilization of both tests will help in determining if the training was effective.
Course Map:A visual document that shows the learners how each module is related to one another, including which modules need to be mastered before moving on to others. Derived from the course procedures and skill hierarchies.
Outline Practice:A detailed document that specifies how the guided practice and free practice will occur.
Outline Assessment:A detailed document that specifies how you will assess all the aspects of the training, such as the learner, the delivery method, the instructor (if applicable), and the instruction itself.
The Development Phase is the next step in the process. So what is the Development Phase anyway?
